台湾作家龙应台记述自己14岁时,全家搬到台南一个小渔村。因贫穷,孩子们生病时,她的母亲不敢带孩子去看医生——怕付不起医药费。有一天,小弟发高烧,咳嗽非常严重,母亲无奈去找村子里的医生。孩子都被带去了。四个年龄不同、高高矮矮的孩子一字排开,愣愣地站在这个乡村医生的对面。林医师几乎不说话,偶尔开口,声音轻柔,说的话也听不十分懂。他仔细地检查小弟的身体,最后把药塞进母亲手里,并嘱咐她怎么照顾孩子。林医师最后竟坚持不收母亲的钱。
When Taiwanese writer Lung Ying-tai described his 14-year-old, his family moved to a small fishing village in Tainan. Because of poverty, her mother was afraid of bringing her children to the doctor when the children were sick - fear of being unable to afford medical bills. One day, his younger brother had a high fever and his cough was very serious. His mother was helpless to find a doctor in the village. Children are taken. Four different ages, tall and short children lined up, Leng Leng stood opposite the village doctor. Lin almost did not speak, occasionally spoke, soft voice, did not quite understand what he was saying. He carefully examined his brother’s body, the last medicine into the mother’s hand, and asked her how to take care of children. Dr. Lin finally insisted on not receiving money from his mother.
