自立自达须以教材为抓手。创校不久,胡敦复便身先士卒,率领全校名师成立“大同学院丛书丛刊”编辑部,负责编撰校本教材,且屡屡被审定为全国通用教科书。100年前,春寒料峭之际,上海南市区肇周路南阳里,一块招牌悄然挂出。其内涵显然奇大,大得足以把这条逼仄的弄堂撑破。“投胎于此”的是一所大学,以“在明明德,在新民,在止于至善”为校铭,以“研究学术,明体达用”为宗旨。它叫大同学院。那天是1912年3月19日,创校校长胡敦复的生日,时年26岁。一所大学,一位青年,一个少年中国,三者命运便重叠、交融、合一。 Self-reliance should be based on teaching materials.
