The main ingredient of Nepeta is volatile oil. The Chinese Pharmacopoeia of 1990 stipulates that its content should not be less than 0.60% (ml/g). The amount of volatile oil in Schizonepeta has a direct relationship with the harvest time of Nepeta. We compared the volatile oil content of several different harvests of Nepeta. First, the experimental part
