“造型美或丑,看看底和口。”这句口诀是四川荣昌地区制陶艺人生产实践的经验结晶。荣昌陶器一般是卵形,腹胀底小口多姿,即要求口(头部)和底小巧玲珑,中段端庄饱满,整体曲线优美。如果口太大底太小,就会头重脚轻站不稳;口太小底太大,则又头尖尾粗不灵巧,损害了整个器物造型的美。这颇值得戏剧创作借鉴:开头干瘪,不能系起戏剧冲突的纽结,无法引人入胜;开头臃肿,铺排得过多,出不了戏,令人索然乏味。法国狄德罗就强调过:“多少剧本是因为第一幕的失败而失掉生命的!”
