利用杂种优势,推广优良杂交种,是玉米主要增产措施之一。但是玉米杂交种能否增产以及增产的幅度大小,不仅决定于杂交组合的选择是否适当,而且取决于亲本自交系的纯度和制种质量。影响制种质量的关键环节之一,是制种田母本去雄是否及时、彻底。但在进行大面积制种时,往往因劳力不足、组织不严、责任心不强或因抽雄期连阴多雨,而不能保证去雄质量,降低了杂交种的增产效果。为了解决这个矛盾,近年来我县大力推广了由玉米雄花不育“三系”配制的优良杂交种 C 型豫农704(简称 C704),不但免除了制种田的人工去雄手续,并取得显著的增产效果。
