全世界以米食为主食的国家很多,生产稻米的国家也不少,然而却没有一个国家像泰国一样,把稻米文化发挥得淋漓尽致。泰国不仅已是全球稻米最大的出口国,致力研究稻米基因的突破演进,也是开发稻米新品种的领先者。因应现代社会追求健康的养生概念,泰国政府目前正在研究低淀粉的瘦身大米与抗菌米等功能性新品种。2008年12月5日是泰国国王普密蓬81岁生日,在他执政61年间,积极推广农业与稻米新文化。泰国米与泰国人的生活、文化已密不可分,稻米可说是泰国人生命、灵魂的一部分。“水里有鱼、田里有米”可说是泰国自给自足的最佳写照。
There are many countries around the world that rely mainly on rice for food. There are also many countries that produce rice. However, no country like Thailand does to maximize its rice culture. Not only is Thailand already the world’s largest exporter of rice, it is committed to studying the breakthroughs in rice genetics and is also a leader in developing new varieties of rice. In response to the concept of health preservation in modern society, the Thai government is currently studying new functional low-weight rice and antibacterial rice varieties. December 5, 2008 is the 81st birthday of King Bhumibat of Thailand. During his 61 years in power, he actively promoted the new culture of agriculture and rice. Thai rice and Thai people’s life, culture is inextricably linked, rice can be said that Thai life is part of the soul. “There is fish in the water and rice in the fields” is the best portrayal of self-sufficiency in Thailand.
