Beginning of the song, a series of deep and imposing infinite tension on the piano from weak to strong, like a bells ringing, stirring. The “bells” are the images often appearing in Rachmaninoff’s work, always bringing out the immense fields and villages in front of people or infuriating from the heart. The heavy chords turn here quickly into a breathtaking backdrop paved with flowing arpeggios. On this background, string and clarinet dragged a heavy pace to pull out a long and melodic melody.
