《漆母》造型取自一个哺乳期的妇人,举止朴素端庄,如同站在远处的母亲望着咿呀学步的孩儿,眼神中充满慈爱和温暖。作品上有三层代表不同时代意义的纹饰:最底层的云纹,代表7000年前漆器出现时的沧桑、悠远,令人不可捉摸;中间的卷草纹,早在盛唐时期就已流传开来,代表唐朝的繁荣、富贵,雕漆也正是成型于这个异常兴盛的时期,记录了雕漆的诞生和辉煌;最上层的玄式现代纹,寓意时间的车轮将漆器艺术从悠远的7000年前带到了今天,使人们一览雕漆的曲折身世。在妇人一侧的乳房部位还绘有舒畅的流水纹,如同母亲流出的乳汁哺育了中华民族的子孙万代。
