2005年,国家统计局决定再一次修改《中华人民共和国统计法》,这是新时期加强我国统计法制,发展统计事业的一项重大举措,它有利于巩固这些年来我国统计事业改革和建设的成果,确认新形势下政府统计在宏观调控体系中的地位和作用,调整和规范在政府统计管理和统计活动中所形成的社会关系。这对于推进我国现代化统计体系建立和完善是十分必要的。
