由西藏自治区科委和国家地震局科技监测司共同主持的西藏当雄(8.0级)、墨脱(8.6级)大地震宏观考察工作成果,在李坪教授主持下,经专家审议,于1987年1月17日通过评审验收。评审认为,这项成果“对于认识喜马拉雅弧形构造不同部位发生的大地震的特征,大陆地震发震过程乃至大陆构造动力学的研究,都有重要的学术意义;同时,对西藏地区地震烈度衰减、地震区划和工程抗震等亦有重要的实际意义,是一项重大的科技成果。”
The macro-inspection work conducted by Tibet’s Dangxiong (8.0 grade) and Medog (8.6) large earthquakes co-chaired by the Tibet Autonomous Region Science Commission and the State Seismological Bureau Science and Technology Monitoring Department under the auspices of Professor Li Ping and reviewed by experts in 1987 January 17 passed the assessment acceptance. The review concluded that this achievement “is of great academic significance for understanding the characteristics of major earthquakes occurring in different parts of the Himalayan archipelago, the earthquakes in the mainland and even the tectonic dynamics in the mainland. At the same time, it is of great academic significance to study the seismic intensity attenuation in Tibet , Seismic zoning and seismic engineering also have important practical significance, is a major scientific and technological achievements. ”
