张品操,1936年生于浙江安吉县。1956年考入浙江美术学院(现中国美术学院)中国画系人物本科就读,1961年毕业留校任教。 得潘天寿等老一辈国画大师亲授,擅意笔人物画,人物造型性格鲜明,栩栩如生,构图功底扎实,笔墨技巧娴熟,既有传统功力。又追求内涵和意境,深得读者和行家称赞。更因其多次深入祖国边陲少数民族地区采风。少数民族地区的生活风情便成了他情有独钟的创作题材。所创作的民族风情意笔人物画因其苍劲有力、浑厚流畅、造型朴实严谨而富有变化,给人以美的享受。
