2002年8月28日是周培源教授诞辰100周年的纪念日.周培源教授是我国著名科学家、教育家、社会活动家、是中国现代科学的奠基人之一,他为中国科学和教育事业的发展做出了卓越的贡献.为此,中国力学学会、中国物理学会和周培源基金会共同发起于2002年8月27日召开了以近代物理、近代力学和生命科学为主题的,具有国际前瞻、高水平的科学论坛,以继承周培源教授毕生追求真理、崇尚科学的崇高精神,并引导和激励年轻一代积极投身科学、热爱科学、献身科学的热情,为21世纪的科学发展做出更大贡献.本期刊出《周培源先生简介》、陈佳洱院士的《在纪念周培源诞辰100周年科学论坛上的讲话》以及科学论坛的2篇大会邀请报告,以表示对周培源教授诞辰100周年的祝贺.
August 28, 2002 is the anniversary of the 100th anniversary of Professor Zhou Peiyuan, a famous scientist, educator and social activist in China. He is one of the founders of China’s modern science. He has done a lot for the development of science and education in China.
