碧口电站左岸泄洪洞是为了提高枢纽的防洪标准而增设的泄水建筑物,全长856.671米。工作门室前有压段长577.552米,衬砌内径10.5米,设有半径80米的弯道,转角56°05′。工作门室后无压段长161.937米,衬砌断面为10×12米(宽×高)的城门洞型。出口为明槽段和挑流鼻坎。泄流量1700~1800立米/秒。1975年底发电前只作了进水塔和渐变段,其余部份是发电后陆续施工的。因地质条件较差和其它原因的影响,于1978年3月29月在无压段施工中出现了冒顶性大塌方。现就塌方的原因和结构处理情况作一简略介绍。
