全国政协委员、中国科学院学部委员、中国畜牧兽医学会名誉理事长、江苏省农业科学院研究员盛彤笙先生因患癌症医治无效,于1987年5月9日9时30分在南京逝世,终年76岁。盛彤笙先生1911年6月出生于江西省永新县贫寒家庭,1932年毕业于中央大学,1934年赴德留学,先后获柏林大学医学博士和兽医学博士学位。1938年回国后曾任江西省立兽医专科学校、西北农学院和中央大学教授、系主任等职。1946年他怀着发展我国畜牧兽医事业、

Mr. Sheng Tong Sheng was born in June 1911 in Yongxin County, Jiangxi Province poor family, graduated from Central University in 1932, went to Germany in 1934 to study abroad, has received a doctorate degree in medical science and veterinary science from Berlin University. After returning to China in 1938, he served as Jiangxi Provincial Veterinary College, Northwest Agricultural College and the Central University professor, department director. In 1946 he was pregnant with the development of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine in China,
