苏北,我的家乡。几十年来,它萦怀在我的心头。近几年家乡来京的人频频告诉我:党的农村改革政策改变了苏北穷乡僻壤的面貌。我听了很高兴,遂产生强烈的思乡情绪。但一直未能如愿。去年5月我从印度奉调回国,便立即请假返里,从5月29日至7月2日,我走访了苏北大部分地方,所见所闻甚广,感想颇多。泽国变粮仓苏北,历史上被称为“水乡泽国”。这里,水源丰富,气候温和,土地肥沃,是个“鱼米之乡”。
