电子计算机从问世以来,至今还只有20年的历史,可是它的发展异常迅速:从第一代电子管的计算机到第二代的晶体管计算机,目前已出现如IBM-360系统那样的第三代计算机.按文献所说,前十五年的机器设计重点放在更快、更便宜和更可靠的存贮器和电路方面,而近来人们注意力转到计算机组织方面:大部件设计和它们之间的相互关系.看来计算机系统设计的主要趋势是:面向用户设计;积木结构和并行处理;高速度.而速度问题始终是促使计算机发展的主要因素之一.本文按面向用户设计的一些考虑、提高速度的一些措施、同时操作及积木结构四个方面加以讨论.
