石河子一二一团场十五连灌区位于玛纳斯河中下游,1950年开垦。灌区总耕面积约6万亩左右,七个生产连队。初垦时本区自然肥力水平较高,地下水位埋藏较深,土壤含盐轻,地下水丰富,因而在开垦后的头几年里,每年都获得了较高的生产水平。棉花亩产皮棉平均在二百斤左右,最高的可达三百五十斤;粮食单产一般在五百斤左右。那时这个灌区已成为玛河流域的主要粮棉产区之一。

The average per-mu yield of lint of cotton is about two hundred jin and the highest is up to three hundred and fifty jin. Grain yield is generally around five hundred jin. At that time, this irrigation district has become one of the major grain and cotton producing areas in the Mar River Basin.
