牟定铜矿自投产以来,对5~7米厚的矿体均采用有底部结构分段空场法采矿。该法采出的矿量占总采出矿量的97~97.6%,因采用此法,采切总量大,采切千吨比高,采矿周期长,矿损失贫化大,采矿成本高,为此,从1978年起,对厚度5~7米的矿体,分别在三个中段8个采场进行中深孔房柱法回采试验获得成功,共采出矿量47365吨,铜金属359吨,品位为0.76%。现将该法在牟定铜矿推广后的实践介绍于后。
