小麦吸浆虫俗名小红虫、麦蛆、黄疸虫等。在我国已发现10种以上,其中危害小麦的主要有红、黄两种。目前,国内外均有发生,日本比较严重。据中国科学院植物所有关资料报道:五十年代在我国曾严重为害,后经连年大力防治,到六十年代即控制为害。此虫主重分布于苏、皖、豫、晋、甘、青、陕等18个省、市、区。红吸浆虫多在平原地区的河流沿岸猖厥。如苏、皖两省的淮河流域、河南的伊河、洛村、黄河及淮河两岸,陕西渭河流域等。
