东华大学职业技术学院于1999年1月经教育部和上海市教委批准成立,为东华大学二级学院。依托校本部和长宁校区雄厚的办学资源,并与上海市太平洋机电(集团)公司及静安区教育局开展合作办学,1999年开始招收大专层次的高职9个专业,450名学生。2000年计划招收10个专业,600名学生,学制三年。学生学习期满,成绩合格,由东华大学颁发上海市教委统一监制并验印的毕业证书。毕业生不包分配,与普通高校本科毕业生一样,实行学校推荐,自主择业。
