拱桥是最古老的桥型之一,也是在桥梁中最具美感的桥式,在我国有着悠久的历史。过去在拱桥建筑中常用支架施工,昂贵的膺架和摸板费用,使钢筋混凝土拱桥越来越失去竞争的能力。我国在六十年代的中期由于双曲拱桥的创建,大大地扩展了拱桥的使用,以后,又发展了桁架拱和多室箱形拱等不同形式的拱桥。它们的共同优点,就是对主拱圈进行分层,分片和分段,以适应无支架缆索吊装的施工。我们在学习这些先进经验的基础上,结合我省的实际情况,创出一条拱桥建筑的新路子,即悬臂拼装单室钢筋混凝土箱形拱桥。首先于1975年在兰溪县兰江大桥的中洲支桥试建一孔净跨60米的单室箱形拱人行桥,获得成功。1979年
