Ecto-5’-nucleotidase (CD73) and adenosine, which is catalyzed by CD73, play an important role as an endogenous purine nucleoside in the process of host infection by Toxoplasma gondii Toxoplasma gondii is the main source of nutrition and energy for Toxoplasma gondii, which is favorable for the invasion of Toxoplasma gondii to the host and is beneficial to the intracellular multiplication of Toxoplasma gondii in the host cell, which is favorable for the immune escape of Toxoplasma gondii and its intracellular immune shield. Inhibiting the biological activity of CD73 or controlling its gene expression will become a new biological treatment of toxoplasma infection.
