包玉刚1955年以70万美元买下8200吨、20年船龄的旧船,到1956年即骤增到七艘,20年间跻身世界船王之列,拥有2000万吨的船队。80年代初期,世界航运业衰退,包氏当机立断弃舟登陆,1980年一夜之间调动现金22亿港元购入九龙仓2000万股,夺得控股大权,轰动全香港,1985年投入25亿港元,接过会德丰洋行主席的权杖;次年,又以3亿港元收购渣打银行14.9%股权,进入该行董事局,成为港华资先后担任两英资银行——汇丰、渣打董事局副主席的第一人。本文叙述与评论了包玉刚经营成功的主要事迹与成功之道。
Bao Yugang purchased 8,200 tons of 20-year-old ships in 1955 for US$ 700,000. It increased rapidly to seven in 1956, ranking among the world’s shipping kings for 20 years and owning a fleet of 20 million tons. In the early 1980s, the world’s shipping industry was in recession. Baoshi took the opportunity to abandon the landing of the boat. In 1980, he mobilized cash of 2.2 billion Hong Kong dollars to purchase 20 million shares of the Wharf, and gained control of the entire country. In 1985, he invested 2.5 billion Hong Kong dollars. Received the scepter of the president of Wheelock International; in the following year, it acquired a 14.9% stake in Standard Chartered Bank for HK$300 million and entered the board of directors of the bank, becoming a Hong Kong-China-funded company that successively served as two British-owned banks—the HSBC and Standard Chartered Board of Directors Chairman’s first person. This article describes and reviews Bao Yugang’s major successes and successes.
