图书馆是人类精神文明的产物,图书馆员的思想、道德水平高低直接影响着对广大读者进行精神文明教育的程度,影响图书馆学术水平和服务质量的提高。有必要经常性地对广大馆员进行社会主义职业道德的教育,以便更好地为广大读者服务。 一、图书馆职业道德规范及其重要作用 所谓职业道德,就是从事一定职业的人们在其特定的工作或劳动中的行为规范。是一般社会道德在职业中的特殊要求,又带有具体职业和行业活动特征。 图书馆职业道德是图书馆员在工作环境中形成的行为规范,总的来说就是:全心全意为读者服务、为科研工作无私奉献。具体说图书馆专业人员应共同遵守的职业道德规范是:忠于职守对本行业业务精益求精,努力为广大读者服务。
Librarians are the product of human spiritual civilization.
