The rapid mineral exploration of the sea floor has now reached a practical stage. BOL will undertake the production testing of a “drag spectrometer system” developed by the Atomic Energy Authority’s Harwell Laboratory for seabed mineral exploration. With this system, radiometric techniques have expanded from currently widely used surface and aerial surveys to the sea floor.
