出版业天地广阔,每年出版新书约10万种,五六百家出版社并不算多,每一个出版社都有其用武之地,也应有自己的个性。改革开放以来,出版社的专业分工有所弱化,加之近几年市场经济的推动,为了生存和发展,一些出版社急于扩张规模,扩大品种,纷纷挤入新的出版领域,什么类图书好销就抢这方面的选题和作者,造成跟风抄袭、重复出版。图书质量难以保证,图书平均销售量下滑,退货率成倍增长,一些新书刚出版三四个月,就被书店退了回来,经济效益下降,社会效益也不好。这一现象提醒我们重新关注出版社的个性化发展问题。
