2016年6月30日起,武汉市遭遇今年最强暴雨,由于雨势猛、强度大、范围广、持续时间长,给运输生产带来挑战。湖北客运集团城市交通事业部用紧张而细致的服务扛起运输重任,在确保运输安全的同时,最大限度地缓解交通压力。受强降雨影响,7月1日早上,武汉天河机场通往T2航站楼的涵洞因积水,轿车无法通行,机场高速严重拥堵,地面交通几近瘫痪。一时间,机场快线各个乘车点客流量骤增。连续的强降雨,积水、湿滑的机场施工道路,突增的旅客,通行的汽车也排起了长队。
