以往每年春季,在广州等地的园林中,木犀科灌木云南黄馨(南迎春)繁花似锦,十分风光。近年来,又有一种花朵形状、大小与云南黄馨相似,但开花稍早,花朵更繁盛,而且芳香宜人的花灌木加入了羊城春花的行列。广州人通常也认为它是一种黄馨,俗称其为多花黄素馨或美国黄素馨。实际上这种貌似黄馨的春花新秀真名叫石海椒(Reinwardtia trigyna),是亚麻科植物,原产于我国西南部。
