作者提出,用抗T4细胞上人类免疫缺陷症病毒(HIV)受体的抗体(Id或Ab-1)诱生的抗独特型抗体(抗-Id或Ab-2)可作为AIDS疫苗。Ab-2具有T4细胞表面受体的内影象,在功能上与受体一致,且Ab-2对HIV抗原的变异不敏感,故能与HIV发生毒株非依赖性的交叉反应,阻碍HIV对T4的粘附,中和其感染性。为了验证这一假说,作者制备了抗T4受体的小鼠单克隆Ab-2,并在体外检测其特性。结果表明,小鼠Ab-2不能提供主动保护作用。有效的疫苗应按下述方法进行研制:
The authors propose that an anti-idiotypic antibody (anti-Id or Ab-2) induced with an antibody (Id or Ab-1) against human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) receptors on T4 cells may be used as an AIDS vaccine. Ab-2 has an internal image of the receptor on the surface of T4 cells and is functionally consistent with the receptor. Ab-2 is insensitive to HIV antigen variation and thus can react independently with HIV-infected strains, hindering HIV Adhesion to T4 neutralizes its infectivity. To test this hypothesis, the authors prepared mouse monoclonal Ab-2 against the T4 receptor and tested its properties in vitro. The results show that mouse Ab-2 can not provide active protection.
