这次我写八集电视连续剧《号角》觉得特别吃力。连续改了四稿,要不是开拍有期限,大概还要继续改下去。我接受这项工作的时候,延安广播电视局的苏力同志已经写出一个本子,他是按照历史事实以真人真名写的,这使我看到了延安新华广播电台艰苦创业的过程,抓到了剧本创作的基础。要写成一部电视剧,就要在人物、情节(?)面加以虚构。而从电视剧的角度看,延安新华广播电台的历史没有多少曲折情节,除了1943年那次由于设备故障暂时停播,十年间势如破竹,从延安到瓦窑堡、到太行山、到平山县,又开进北京。一个微弱的声音在干扰电波中越来越响亮,整个中国都在倾听它。在1949年10月1日的“开国大典”,成了震惊世界的最强音。新华台播出的头一篇重大新闻是皖南事变,
