光绪《镇南州志略》由清李毓兰修,甘孟贤纂,成书付梓于清光绪十八年(公元1892年)。该志在参照并考证康熙《镇南州志》和咸丰《镇南州志》两旧志的基础上,还掺入了大量的文献资料和实地采访材料,是一部内容新颖、资料翔实、体例完备、可信度较高的方志著述。本文简述了光绪《镇南州志略》一书的编纂过程,介绍了《镇南州志略》的主要特点,即体例的创新、内容的完整性和真实客观性、取材的全面性,并分析光绪《镇南州志略》一书重要的史料价值及其存在的几个不足之处。
