《圣经》是西方传统文化的重要典籍之一,作为世界范围内圣经翻译分支的圣经汉译活动在中西文化交流史上占有重要地位。任东升的专著《圣经汉译文化研究》体现出强烈的跨文化意识,该书把圣经汉译活动放在中西文化交流的背景下加以考察,进行跨学科、多方位、多角度的学术透视,自成系统,多有洞见,具有相当的原创性和一定的权威性。本文认为翻译的长远目标在于差异被理解,而不是要消灭差异;经典翻译者和研究者不仅需要渊博的知识,而且要有强烈的跨文化意识,在文化互动中寻找契合点。 The Bible is one of the important texts of Western traditional culture. The Bible translation as a branch of Bible translation in the world occupies an important position in the history of the exchange of Chinese and Western cultures. Ren Dongsheng’s monograph Biblical Chinese Translation Cultural Studies reflects a strong cross-cultural awareness.
