赵老峪流域位于陕西省铜川市南部,富平县北部山区,在富平县薛镇公社的峪口出山流入塬区。峪口以上主沟长24.2公里,流域面积159.7平方公里,全为土石山区。峪口以下为洪漫区,沟道原长20多公里,由于上游长期引洪,下游淤积垦种,现仅有9.5公里,平均宽40米。赵老峪洪水,一般年约发生10次左右,洪水总量在200万立方米上下,输沙量在30～60万公吨之间。相传当地群众从秦代起就已开始采用固定渠道分引沟道洪水漫地,
