二十几年的改革开放,使整个中国从社会到文化, 从经济到政治,日益变成了一个矛盾关联、互动互制、有层次有条件的整体,因此,我们考虑到中国画的生存与发展,就不能是孤立的、一厢情愿的,它是整体的一部分,是大问题中的小问题。比如说中国画的吸收外来因素的问题,就与“建设有中国特色的社会主义”原理相通,而这一原理是百年来中国人的共同智慧的结晶。中国画要在当代中国社会占一席之地,必须重新审视自己的立足之点,找到自己在当代中国社会与文化中的正确位置,同时,还必须找到自己今天不能缺席的理由。
