反循环钻探具有内在的一系列特点,其一,由于内管冲洗液上返速度高,携带岩芯(样)能力强,排屑彻底,孔内(底)清洁,避免了岩芯(样)在孔底重覆机械破碎,因而提高了钻进效率。其二,由于循环介质的连续性,形成岩芯(样)依次连续返出地面,防止了污染,因而岩心(样)品质好,具有良好的代表性。其三,亦由于内管冲洗液上返速度高,造成的管外与管内流速比值小带来的多种优点,因而为大口径的水文、水井钻探和工程施工钻探开辟了前景。其四,由于钻进工艺性的特点,形成钻具结构相应较简单,因而具有灵活的任选性。即在常规的正循环水井钻机上,只要配上反循环钻具,就可实现反循环钻探。鉴于上述特点,反循环钻探所特有的生命力,引起了行家们的极大关注。
