Prithett, Arco Expration (S12.1) Transverse wave reflections have been successfully received in three high-speed surface rock basins in western Texas. The surface is so thick that it can be approximated as a half-space, and shear waves are not clearly marked . However, the reverberation in the high-speed layer is quite serious in the P-wave recording, and the signal-to-noise ratio of the reflected wave is poor. In the Midland Basin, a test noise array and 16 depth-point spread arrangements were tested using vertical and horizontal vibrators, three-component geophones.
