2003年9月6日至11日,由中国美术家协会中国画艺术委员会主办、甘肃省美术家协会承办的“全国当代花鸟画艺术大展”在兰州拉开帷幕,旨在“汇集当代花鸟画的精华,推出优秀的花鸟画作品,促进现代花鸟画的繁荣”。6日上午,中国美协党组书记、常务副主席刘大为,中国美协副秘书长王春立,中国画艺委会主任郭怡(?),及甘肃省委副书记、省文联主席马西林,甘肃省美协主席莫建成等出席了展览开幕式并为展览剪彩。
