The authors collected Corallina offici-nalis, coralline algae from December (Winter I), March (Spring II), and July (Summer III) respectively. The dry powders were extracted with petroleum ether, filtered, vacuum-dried, and the residue was treated with ethanol. - Saponification of potassium hydroxide solution. The unsaponifiable material was extracted with ether, washed with water and vacuum dried. The lipid-lowering activity of the resulting lipids was studied to determine the best acquisition time and the best hypolipidemic effect. The results showed that the lipid content of each sample was close to that of fat.
