In March 1505, Michelangelo came to Rome in accordance with the will of Pope Julius II. Pope gave him a very ambitious task: five years to build a mausoleum for him, remuneration is 10,000 gold. Tomb to 23 feet wide, 36 feet 3 inches deep, 26 feet 4 inches high. Around the tomb there must be 40 statues of the same size. The tomb to be self-contained, without other architectural support, which also have an oval-shaped tomb. Until then, no precedent has been set in the West for such a huge mausoleum. We redraw the drawing of the tomb based on the available texts. The drawings show that this tomb is a generalization of the Christian world: the bottom is for ordinary people, the middle is for prophets and saints who are expected to ascend to heaven, and the highest is for those who surpass the first two in Last Judgment. At the top of the tomb two Angels led Pope Julius II out of the tomb’s picture on the Day of Judgment. Michelangelo immediately began preparations for the task, but soon he found the Pope an arrogant and changeable person. The Pope wondered if he could find the right cemetery for him, so he made a bigger plan: rebuilding and rebuilding St Peter’s Tomb. As Pope bent on this new plan, he temporarily postponed the original plan. Michelangelo managed to give the pope an opportunity to state his opinion, but failed, so that he was eventually thrown out of the palace by the guard in the Pope’s court. April 17, just before the start of the tomb of St. Peter, Michelangelo escaped Rome, with a cavity of anger ran to Florence.
