270,000 square kilometers of the Huaihe River basin, like a powerful giant, hold up the hinterland of China Central Plains this piece of gold-like land. The Huaihe River, with a total length of 1,000 kilometers, and numerous tributaries moisturize the land and raise 160 million Huaihe children on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. The Huaihe River basin lies between the two major valleys of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River, with the Yellow Sea to the east. It constitutes the dividing line between North and South of China and the Qinling Mountains. It is a superimposed area of the three transitional zones. Disasters have always been heavy. In 1194, the Yellow River carried a large amount of sediment southward to capture the Huaihe River, destroying the original Huaihe River system and exacerbating the Huaihe River disaster. According to statistics, less than 500 years before the founding of new China
