During the “Tenth Five-Year Plan” and some time to come, China will implement six major forestry key projects covering more than 97% of the country’s counties with a planned afforestation of more than 1.1 billion mu and a wide range of projects with a large scale. Giant for history rare. Each project can be compared with the former Soviet Union’s Stalinist Transformation Plan, the Roosevelt Savannah Forestry Project in the United States and the Green Dam Project in the five North African countries. It even exceeds these projects and becomes the most ecological project in the world. The great feat of recreating the beautiful mountains and rivers in this new century in our country has had a great repercussion at home and abroad. As China’s forest resources are mainly distributed in the northeast (the Greater Xiaoxingan Mountains and Changbai Mountain area), southwest (Hengduan Mountains, Brahmaputra bend and Himalayas south slope), southeast (Taiwan, Fujian, Jiangxi Province) mountainous areas, ethnic minorities relatively Concentration and ecological construction will have a positive impact on their production and life. To this end, the reporter interviewed Comrade Zhou Shengxian, director of the State Forestry Administration.
