Objective To understand the contamination status of Enterobacter sakazakii in domestic infant formula powder and provide a scientific basis for early warning of consumption. Methods According to the 2011-2012 edition of National Foodborne Pathogen Surveillance Workbook, 32 infants and young children’s formula powders were tested in the market. Results Two strains of Enterobacter sakazakii were detected in 32 samples with a detection rate of 6.25%. Enterobacter sakazakii detection rate of infant formula was 4.35% (1/23); infant detection of Enterobacter sakazakii 11.11% (1/9). Conclusion Some E. coli saprophytic bacteria are contaminated in some infant formula powder of Liujiang County. The hidden dangers of food safety should not be neglected. Monitoring efforts should be stepped up to prevent and control food poisoning caused by Enterobacter sakazakii.
