According to San Francisco, USA: At a meeting of the American College of Cardiology held here, another report by Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago said that hypertensive lean people are at higher risk of dying from a variety of causes. Elon Bloom, a cardiac surgeon at Honolulu, cites a 12-year prospective statistical study of 8,006 Japanese-American men aged 45-65 years, demonstrating no significant difference between the BMI and the rate of fatal coronary heart disease. Hypertension increases the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) at various BMI levels and the same conclusion applies to all fatal and non-fatal coronary heart disease and stroke. But when the Honolulu research team checked the association between BMI and systolic blood pressure (SBP) and all cardiovascular disease, a positive correlation was found. Further examination of the BMI and SBP interactions of lethal coronary and cardiovascular disease results are of no consequence. Bloom said the findings differed from previous studies in France and California, explaining differences in the characteristics of the observers and differences in research design and analytical techniques. A recent large study in Chicago showed that people with lean and high blood pressure have a higher risk of dying for various reasons than those with obesity. The CHP’s industrial inspection program was followed up at a baseline of 35-64
