哈尔滨工程大学是以工科为主的全国重点大学,隶属于国防科工委,学校原名为哈尔滨船舶工程学院,前身为创建于1953年的中国人民解放军军事工程学院,是首批“211工程”立项建设的全国重点大学。经过近50年的发展,学校已成为“三海一核”即船舶工业、海军装备、海洋开发、核能应用领域培养高级技术人才的重要基地,学校科研实力雄厚,在船舶与海洋工程领域的研究有很大突破,相关学科达到国际同类学科的先进水平。
