1932年第十届美国洛杉矶奥运会第一座奥林匹克村的建立本届奥运会创造了现代奥林匹克运动史上许多的第一。第一次修建了为运动员提供住宿的奥林匹克村;第一次目睹了自动秒表的介入和终点拍照的应用;本届奥运会第一次在两个多星期内进行,使会期走向规范化,开始出现奥林匹克圣歌,并在颁奖仪式上为胜利者升国旗奏国歌,国际奥委会还提出每个参赛者最多参加三个项目的规定;中国代表团首次参加奥运会。在没有中国政府财政支持的情况下,组成6人代表团。中国代表团的参会虽然没有取得突出的成绩,但是粉碎了日本企图把伪满洲国塞进奥运会,进而骗取世界各国承认伪满洲国的政治阴谋。
