在近年来文学史理论研究中，葛红兵陆续发表的数十篇有关论文，在海内外产生热烈反响。他的论述表明他已形成了自己的体系和风格。他所建立的文学史学首先实现了对原有文学史观的批判和解构，在此基础上他以现代解释学哲学的理论导引，构建自己的理论体系，既强调文学史家的主体参与，又突出文学史理论与文学史著的开放性格，体现着新世纪的人文精神和时代特征。
