无锡市滑稽剧团,前身是三十年代滑稽老艺人易方朔组建的“方朔精神剧团”。后废领班为共和班,更名“众力通俗话剧团”。1956年3月经无锡市文化管理处批准为市属集体所有制剧团,更名“无锡市滑话剧团”。创作演出了《飞贼陈阿尖》《卜灵望》《三十年上海滩》《无锡大阿福》《老狐狸》等剧目。《老狐狸》曾参加江苏省话剧五十周年纪念演出,获得好评。1958年4月市文化局派干部领导,更名“无锡市滑稽剧团”,实行体制改革,健全艺术制度,充实艺术人才,使剧团走上正轨,创作、改编了一批既有时代气息,又有一定艺术质量的现代戏,如《翻天复地》、《灵勿灵》《夺印》《好事体》《借女冲喜》等,受到领导和观众的欢迎。1959年夏在无锡太湖饭店为陈云副总理演出了《满意不满意》。秋,仍在太湖饭店为叶剑英元帅演出了《借女冲喜》。《好事体》在上海演出连满三个月,并被调南京为江苏省党代会演
