Planktonic foraminifera analysis of three gravitational column samples (columns 255, 170, 17940-2) taken from the Okinawa Trough and the South China Sea found that among all the species, Pulleniatina obliquiloculata showed a significant contribution to the winter Quaternary in the western Pacific Seawater temperature was sensitive and its relative abundance changed significantly, and it could be compared among the columnar samples. The most significant change in the Holocene is the minimum value of P. obliquiloculata before about 4 ~ 2 ka BP, which may be related to the cooling in the New Ice Age. The widespread presence of this chilling event in the Western Great Ocean indicates that P obliquiloculata can serve as a tracer of paleoceanography and climate change and is also important for sea-land climate comparisons.
