魏纪中,南京大学法国文学系毕业,曾担任中国奥委会秘书长、中国奥委会副主席、2000年奥申委秘书长等职。在体育界内,69岁的魏纪中,被称为“魏老爷子”,他是公认的国内少数几个有资格评论中国体育的权威人士。十运会结束前5天,魏纪中接受了《中国新闻周刊》的专访。他说,自己参加过全部10届全运会,但,只是作为观众,“虽然我在国家体委当过官,我却不管这方面的事,我发表观点只代表我个人,不代表任何人。”
