1994年5月的一天,苏州博物馆考古队对吴江市桃源镇广福村遗址进行考古调查和试掘,从出土的文物,证明广福村遗址属6000年前马家浜文化遗址,为苏州地区最早的文化遗址之一.就在同一天,到市里去参加1993年度表彰会的村支部书记顾浩字沉甸甸的捧回了苏州市级示范村、文明单位、科技进步先进村、吴江市级工业明星村、出口创汇第一村等奖匾和奖杯.
